Github Discovery

Android app for discovering GitHub repos: browse topics, use desktop-grade advanced search operators on mobile, sort by newest or most starred, and star repos into Lists. Read-only apart from starring.

About This Project

GitHub-Discovery is a mobile tool designed to streamline the process of finding and bookmarking software repositories. It brings desktop-grade advanced search functionality to Android, allowing users to filter repositories by specific criteria such as language, forks, star counts, and creation dates. The application avoids the complexity of full repository management, focusing instead on discovery, trending views, and organizing repositories into user-defined star lists.

Built with Kotlin and Jetpack Compose, the app utilizes the GitHub GraphQL and REST APIs to provide real-time data. It implements a device-side OAuth flow for secure authentication, ensuring that user tokens remain stored locally on the device. This project is intended for developers and technical enthusiasts who require an efficient, mobile-first way to research and track open-source projects without the overhead of a full GitHub client.
