Local TTS Plugin

Local text-to-speech for Claude Code: Kokoro (CPU), NeuTTS Air (CPU cloning), Chatterbox (ROCm/CUDA). Installs, registers and runs local TTS models.

About This Project

Local-TTS-Plugin enables users to perform text-to-speech operations directly on their local hardware, ensuring privacy and offline functionality within the Claude Code environment. The plugin automatically detects hardware capabilities—including CPU, RAM, and GPU configurations—to recommend and install the most efficient model, such as the lightweight Kokoro-82M, the CPU-optimized NeuTTS Air, or GPU-accelerated Chatterbox.

To maintain system stability and avoid dependency conflicts, the project isolates each engine within its own uv virtual environment. It provides a comprehensive suite of skills for managing voice profiles, converting text or markdown files into various audio formats, and performing real-time voice cloning from short audio clips. This tool is designed for developers who require integrated, low-latency audio feedback or automated voice synthesis directly within their terminal-based development workflow.
